Splunk Engineer and OPS Engineer

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Splunk Engineer to join the CDM Operations and Maintenance team. The Splunk Engineer will support the deployment and implementation of cyber engineering strategies, tools and techniques which contribute to enhancing cyber security posture.

As a Splunk Engineer, you will develop improvements to engineering requirements and specifications. You will provide engineering and deployment support for distributed Splunk environments consisting of heavy forwarders, indexers, and search heads, spanning security, performance, and operational roles. You will support the full system engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, and implementation. You will perform data analysis for anomalies, trends and build dashboards highlighting key data trends. You will support Splunk deployments in Windows and Linux environments, edit and maintain Splunk configuration files and apps. You will work with Integration Leads and collaborate with Data Integration engineers in preparation for Splunk apps deployments. You will troubleshoot discovered or reported issues and provide technical support. You will design and customize complex search queries and promote advance searching and analytics.

You have:

  • 4+ years of experience with Splunk troubleshooting and writing Splunk Processing Language (SPL) queries

  • 4+ years of experience with distributed and clustered Splunk architectures

  • 3+ years of Linux command line administration and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of Splunk configuration files and components, including Front-end and Back-end

  • Knowledge of data ingest pipelines.

  • Knowledge of Splunk features, including Data Models with acceleration, KV Stores, advanced dashboarding concepts, Splunk REST API Development and maintenance of custom Splunk applications and technical add-on's Installation and configuration of Splunk DBConnect

  • Public Trust

  • HS diploma or GED

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
