The Opportunity:
What if you could use your engineering skills to solve the energy system integration challenges of the Department of Defense? Our team supports critical mission facilities to enhance mission resiliency through ever more-connected energy systems. This challenge requires leveraging expertise in electrical, communications, water, and gas infrastructure to deliver IT/OT and cybersecurity RMF capabilities for our clients.
As a senior engineer with experience in industrial controls, you understand the complexities of energy systems that supports facilities, campuses, and installations' electrical, gas, and water infrastructure. That knowledge is key when it comes to ensuring physical security and cybersecurity of the supervisory systems that collect and transmit data from hardware to key stakeholders. We are looking for a candidate who can combine their expertise in IT/OT and industrial control systems (ICS) to help the Department of Defense meet its energy resilience and climate goals. The ability to lead a team of engineers and facilitate interaction between clients and partners is key. A qualified candidate can expect to be leading technical efforts across the entire system lifecycle from planning, designing, construction, commissioning, and sustainment. Furthermore, you should expect to interface with leaders and policymakers as a subject matter expert. You will directly impact the energy sector by supporting a team that will pair advanced ICS technology with a diverse portfolio of facility energy and business systems across the world.
You’ll conduct cybersecurity assessments, security design engineering, and threat monitoring of non-IT systems, including ICS, physical systems, or embedded systems. You’ll apply advanced consulting skills or extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. You’ll develop innovative solutions to complex problems, work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

You Have:
- 5+ years of experience designing or maintaining advanced energy systems, infrastructure, or metering
- Experience with IT/OT practices and cybersecurity risk management
- Experience with ICS, network communications, and hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Schneider Electric Ecostruxure Control Expert or Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA)
- Experience working with Utility Interconnection, Demand Response Aggregators, and Curtailment Service Providers
- Experience with renewable energy, energy storage, and water conservation technologies
- Experience with or adjacent to the Department of Defense
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) Certification
- Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP) Certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) License

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
