The Opportunity: 

When a developer or user builds new data pipelines, they expect it to run smoothly. Functionality and reliability are key to successful pipeline development, and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced ETL engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

As an ETL tester on our team, you will perform manual and automation testing in validating data sources, extraction of data, applying transformation logic, and loading data into target tables, working closely with data engineering functions to ensure a sustainable test approach. You’ll work with the DevOps team to integrate the test automation scripts into the GitHub and Jenkins CI/CD pipeline. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have: 

  • 4+ years of experience with ETL testing

  • Experience in Data Engineering using Spark or PySpark and Data Bricks, Big Data Testing, and Python or PySpark scripting

  • Experience with AWS Services, such as Glue or EMR

  • Experience with AWS Databases such as RDS PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift, MS SQL Server, or Mongo DB Database

  • Experience with complex SQL scripting to validate source or target data load and transformations

  • Experience with Databricks data pipeline testing with Databricks or Spark framework in AWS cloud infrastructure

  • Experience with different types of testing, including Black Box testing, Smoke testing, Functional testing, System Integration testing, End-to-End testing, Regression testing, User Acceptance testing (UAT), Load testing, Performance testing, or Stress testing

  • Experience with Integration testing and E2E testing among different upstream projects

  • IRS Suitability

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) on Agile Scrum environments

  • Experience using JIRA, Cucumber Gherkin, BDD, or IBM’s ETM or ELM toolsets

  • Experience with data migration testing automation using tools such as iDQE or Informatica Data Validation

  • Experience with Selenium Rest Assured API automation testing

  • Experience creating Selenium Automation Frameworks from scratch

  • Experience with DevOps concepts and integrating regression tests as part of the CI/CD pipeline and build process

  • Experience implementing a test automation suite to validate COTS and third party products

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python to create automated Test Scripts

  • Knowledge of non-functional automation testing tools, including JMeter or LoadRunner

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
