Systems Administrator and Security Engineer

Key Role:

Ensure the client maintains their Authority-to-Operate (ATO). Maintain responsibility for tasks such as reviewing Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans, tracking and investigating Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), and other Cyber Command vulnerabilities that impact the customer's Red Hat Enterprise Linux baselines. Assist with sprint planning to ensure applicable software enhancements, security fixes, and trouble reports are identified.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with Linux-based IT systems and applications, including the deployment of computing system architectures, and services and technologies, including Red Hat KVM and ESX VMware
  • 3 years of experience with performing information assurance activities, reviewing ACAS and SCAP scans, and tracking STIGs and CVEs on a DoD network in support of an ATO
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Podman or Docker
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts and technologies
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes and tools, including Jira
  • Ability to create, manage, and brief Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Test Plans, and more to various project stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8570, IAT Level II Certification, including Security+
  • SDN or Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Bug and project tracking in JIRA
  • Experience with CMPRO Product Life Cycle Management Software
  • Experience with software configuration management processes, including planning, change control, validation, and release for multiple product baselines
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Science
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
