The Opportunity:
As a cost analyst, you’re passionate about uncovering the story behind the numbers through diving into the root cause of a challenge, analyzing data, and developing recommendations that drive smarter decisions. We need an analyst like you to help our Navy clients solve complex problems and improve program performance.
On our team supporting Navy acquisitions, you’ll evaluate data and develop analytical approaches to support cost estimation, financial modeling, and program assessment. You’ll help shape data-driven strategies using methods such as statistical analysis, cost-benefit analysis, lifecycle cost estimation, and what-if scenario modeling to deliver actionable insights.
You won’t go at it alone; you’ll work with cross-functional teams consisting of technical experts, acquisition professionals, and industry experts to analyze and interpret programmatic and cost data. Once documented, you’ll help develop cohesive presentations to communicate findings, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to program meetings that inform acquisition and budgeting decisions.
In this role, you’ll use your analytic expertise and understanding of cost principles to apply modeling and measurement techniques to evaluate system affordability, readiness, and risk.

You Have:
5+ years of experience performing detailed cost estimation, analysis, or forecasting
Experience developing and evaluating metrics and data trends over a defense acquisition program lifecycle
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Schedule Analysis
Experience collecting and analyzing cost and technical data to develop functional cost models
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Ability to work full time in a classified environment
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor’s in Economics, Business, or a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field
Nice If You Have:
Experience supporting Navy Acquisition Program Offices
Experience in risk and uncertainty analysis
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFAR)
Possession of excellent communication and presentation skills
Master’s degree in Research, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or Business
Defense Acquisition University Business - Cost Estimating or PMP Certification
Certified Cost Estimator Analyst (CCEA®) or Professional Cost Estimator Analyst (PCEA®) Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
