We’re looking for a system administrator who specializes in Linux systems to help us engineer and maintain government systems.
Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.
We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a Linux system administrator leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network so your clients achieve their goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide management, system administration, planning, and operational support for C2 servers and client assets, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems and Ubuntu.
- Administer and provide technical support for assets employed at approved global locations.
- Perform IT Service Management (ITSM), including Configuration Management (CM) using tools such as Red Hat Satellite Servers.
- Ensure cybersecurity compliance for server and workstation assets.
- Perform any necessary actions required to respond to problem reports.
- Conduct system, security, and operational testing or evaluations.
- Provide support for fielding of future releases.
- Manage and administer the Radiant Mercury or Forcepoint Cross Domain Solution (CDS) or other designated CDS in support of the SITEC mission.
- Plan, design, and implement system backup and recovery operations on server and workstation assets.
- Provide management, system administration, planning, and operational support for C2 client assets.
- Gather and perform troubleshooting on systems performance data and security concerns from tools such as OS and application logs, Splunk, and OSCAP.
- Develop and validate end-user self-help guides and processes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation artifacts to improve consistency of support and speed to deploy and resolve issues.
- Develop system and operational documentation and schematic diagrams, using tools such as Microsoft Word and Visio.

You Have:
- Knowledge of Linux systems, including Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise
- Ability to work shift work, as needed
- TS/SCI clearance
- HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, or Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or CySA+ Certification
Nice If You Have:
- CompTIA Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certification
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Certification
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
