Booz Allen has an opportunity to showcase your talents by supporting the United States Air Force. We’re looking for a Cloud Application Architect to join the team. You’ll work in a Cloud & software engineering role, working with teams to leverage and expand your client’s capabilities.
Through your leadership, we’ll help transform the way the Department of Air Force uses technology including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to translate customer needs, and assist others in migration and solutioning of mission critical capabilities. You’ll be responsible for working with current and new software development teams, architecting, building, and deploying hybrid cloud architectures in classified environments.
You should have expertise in DoD and DoW impact levels and classifications, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle clouds, databases such as SQL and NoSQL, Networking, hybrid cloud architectures, air-gapped cloud environments, and common design patterns such as event-driven architectures and microservices. You should have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently while leading others, and be able to work across development teams. You should be able to work in a fast-paced, agile environment while mentoring the next set of developers to help them grow into tomorrow’s solutions architects.

You Have:
6+ years of experience developing and deploying scalable, modern cloud-based architectures
5+ years of experience with networking, including in hybrid and cloud environments within NIPR, SIPR, TS or JWICS
5+ years of experience building cloud native microservice full stack applications such as frontend, backend, or data storage solution
5+ years of experience working with DoD STIGs or CIS Benchmarks such as hardening virtual servers and adhering to security controls
4+ years of experience with IaC such as Terraform or Ansible
2+ years of experience leading DevSecOps teams
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree
AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud Solution Architect Associate Certification
Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification, including Security+ Certification, within 60 days of start date
Nice If You Have:
6+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable, modern cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud
5+ years of experience across hybrid and secure DoW or DoD environments such as NIPR, SIPR, TS, JWICS ,and Special Access Programs (SAP), including FENCES or PLX
Experience building cloud‑native microservice applications, including frontend, backend, and data layers, and applying DoD STIGs or CIS Benchmarks for secure system hardening and compliance
Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible to automate cloud deployments
Experience working effectively in agile, high‑tempo environments
Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and working across multi‑classification cloud environments
Knowledge of identity and access management, including SAML, OpenID, and Single‑Sign‑On
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across networking, application code, and cloud configuration in secure environments
TS/SCI clearance
DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAT Level III Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
