Cyber threats are rapidly evolving, and we need your help ensuring their security. Develop your penetration testing and vulnerability analysis skills by supporting Booz Allen’s cutting-edge cloud-native 5G network with ongoing penetration research, data science efforts, virtual/augmented reality programs, and much more. Our internal and client-supported work relies on the availability of our 5G Labs, and we need your help to ensure its success. 

In this role you will perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of computer network intrusion vectors and mitigations related to mobile telecommunication systems, generate security reports, and assist in the implementation and design of security solutions. Our team is looking for creative minds who are ready to use new tools and approaches to develop the next generation of security methodologies.

You Have: 

  • Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, security controls, and risk mitigation 
  • Experience with specifications, protocols, deployments, security, or vulnerability assessments of 4G, LTE, and 5G systems 
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Pearl, Bash, or Ruby 
  • Experience with virtual machines and containers to perform tasks including deployment or performing security analysis of said systems 
  • Knowledge of security architecture and design, including firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, Virtual Private Networking, and virus and malware protection technologies  
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology and 3 years of experience in intrusion analysis or 6 years of experience conducting vulnerability and intrusion analysis and 2 years of experience with mobile telecommunications systems in lieu of a degree

Nice if You Have: 

  • Experience with designing, deploying, operating, or troubleshooting 3G, 4G, 5G telecommunications networks and components. 
  • Experience with command line, SSH, simple bash scripting, and installing and debugging software services 
  • Experience with 5G features and architectures  
  • Experience using OSINT tools and techniques such as Shodan, Censys, DNSRecon, and Google docking
  • Experience using penetration testing tool suites such as Kali Linux, Parrot OS, and Black Arch 
  • Experience with cyber security tools including Nmap, Nessus, Scapy, OpenVAS, Wireshark and TCPDump, and making recommendations based on findings of those cyber security tools 
  • Experience performing incident response activities  
  • Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies including NIST SP 800-115, STRIDE, and MITRE ATT&CK 
  • Knowledge of telecommunication protocols, architecture, and processes, including air interface protocols
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
