Defense Mission Resilience Analyst

The Opportunity:  

To grow effectively, organizations need help looking at their operation from the outside. Whether standing up a new organization, transforming an existing one, or transitioning an organization, such as a merger or split-up, our clients need a change management consultant who will take the time to learn the complexities of their mission and provide them with tangible advice on business process improvements, mission success, and standard methodologies. 

That’s why we need you, an experienced management consultant who knows how to analyze every aspect of your customer’s operations and use your specialized experience to give them the roadmap to becoming the organization they envision. 

As a general management consultant on our team, you’ll develop an overall picture of your client’s current structure, day-to-day operations, and outcomes in a manner that they may not have thought of before. Through discussions and workshops with stakeholders and support staff, you will identify the elements that work best in their environment and the areas for improvement. Once you have a thorough understanding of where and how the organization can improve, you will present the path forward—and the expected results—to your client.  

This is your chance to grow experience in mission resilience while deepening your consulting skills. This position requires the ability work onsite in Alexandria, VA 2 days per week.

You Have: 

  • 2+ years of experience working within the DoD

  • Experience with communications and outreach to build stakeholder consensus

  • Knowledge of encroachment, land use management, and energy projects as they relate to military operations

  • Knowledge of regulations and policies that apply to and may impact military operations

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint software

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new subject areas

  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience using DoD’s Mission Compatibility Assessment Tool (MCAT) or FAA Obstruction Evaluation/Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA) tool

  • Experience managing correspondence in DoD’s Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) or similar centralized workflow platform

  • Experience working with models for wind turbine impacts on long range, navigational and over-the-horizon radars, as well as the operational impacts caused by this interference.

  • Experience monitoring foreign investment in energy development and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)

  • Experience supporting joint land use studies (JLUS), compatible use plans, installation complex encroachment management action plans (ICEMAPs), air installation compatible use zone (AICUZ) plans, military installation resilience (MIR) plans, installation master plans, or similar military-community land use planning effort

  • Knowledge of DoD’s Military Aviation and Installation Assurance Siting Clearinghouse, Marine Corps Mission Sustainment Program, Air Force Mission Sustainment or Community Partnership Programs, or similar Military Service mission sustainment programs

  • Knowledge of the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) five-year offshore lease planning and permitting process

  • Knowledge of the interagency Wind Turbine Radar Interference Mitigation Forum

  • Knowledge of DoD’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process 

  • Knowledge of PowerPoint or other graphics software to create and manipulate sophisticated presentation graphics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
