Operational Planner, Senior

Key Role:

Provide in-depth understanding and expertise to one or more aspects of service or joint missions, processes, and culture. Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, or full industry knowledge. Support client with a comprehensive and integrated analysis of plans, concepts, assessments of all operational aspects of war plans and the operations, action and activities (OAAs) contributing to their overall synchronization. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications: ​

  • 10+ years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD)

  • 5+ years of experience in military operations

  • 5 years of experience working in USINDOPACOM AOR

  • 3+ years of experience working in military plans 

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior military staff office

  • Experience in operational or strategic levels of DoD planning or execution

  • Knowledge of the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region

  • Knowledge of the planning continuum, including the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Operating Concepts (JOC), or Joint Capabilities Areas (JCA)

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of theater and advanced joint planning to shape and deliver the desired plans

  • Knowledge of USINDOPACOM policy and strategy and USINDOPACOM TCP/TCO, GCPs, CT EXORD, OPLANs, CONPLANs, and Theater Security Cooperation Plans, including linkages to parallel national interests

  • Knowledge of U.S. national plans and policy, including National Security Strategy (NSS), National Military Strategy (NMS), Unified Command Plan (UCP), Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), and Joint Strategic Campaign Plan (JSCP)

  • Knowledge of the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) to include mission analysis, course of action development, analysis, comparison, recommendation, and approval

  • Knowledge of STO and SAP programs

  • Graduate of the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS) , Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS), Basic Strategic Art Program (BSAP), or Advanced Strategic Art Program (ASAP)

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
