Joint Exercise Planner, Senior

Key Role:

Execute the design and development of an exercise utilizing the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) process, writing Orders, Executive Summaries and After Action Reviews when required. Apply knowledge of how to organize diverse groups to build shared comprehension of complex challenges, facilitate collective problem solving, analysis, and implementation of new solutions and best practices. Maintain a clear understanding of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and directions with new and experimental capabilities. Facilitate training exercises travel with resource management staff to forecast end working funding estimates and execution. Work with the training audience to develop Training Objectives that are associated with Operational and Contingency Plan Mission Tasks and Unit Readiness tasks within the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS). Develop schedules, coordinate venues and provide updates throughout planning on the end-to-end Concept of Operations (CONOP).  

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with military exercises at the battalion, brigade, or division level

  • 5+ years of experience in planning and executing Joint Exercise Program (JEP)

  • Experience working with Multi-Domain Operations and Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) employment

  • Experience working with the Army Multi-Domain Task Force (MDTF)

  • Experience with the Five Stages of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC)

  • Knowledge of Joint, Bilateral and Unilateral Exercises

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% annually

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in organizational leadership.

  • Experience with using MS Office applications, including MS Office/365

  • Ability to take an exercise from the concept phase, plan the exercise, prepare and provide senior level concept of operation brief

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Top Secret clearance
