Operational Exercise Planner, Senior

Key Role:

Provide expert recommendations and support to Combatant Command (COCOM), other service component commands, and interagency stakeholders to properly plan, prepare, and resource strategic and operational requirements. Conduct mission analysis, including staff estimates, courses of action, and decision support templates for campaign and contingency plans. Participate in or facilitate Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), bureaus, boards, cells, conferences, and working group events, information paper development, operational and strategic assessments, and response to or creation of Requests for Information (RFIs). Support other initiatives and requirements, including organizational assessment and input to higher headquarters. Contribute to the synchronization of objectives, activities, and investments (OAI) in a matrix organization with multiple functional areas and provide written reports and briefs to senior military audiences. This position requires international travel up to 25% of the time.

Basic Requirements:

-10+ years of experience with operations as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Military

-6+ years of experience with tactical or operational planning at the division, corps, theater level or service equivalent

-3+ years of experience of Exercise Planning in the INDOPACOM Theater

-3+ years of experience in the Joint environment

-Experience with the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP)

-Experience with the five stages of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC)

-Ability to travel to international locations up to 25%

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Requirements:

-Experience as a Commander, Joint Task Force or a Joint Component Commander, including Joint Force Land Component Commander (JFLCC), Joint Force Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC) or Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC)

-Knowledge of Army multi-domain operations (MDO) concepts

-Joint Professional Military Education Program (JPME), School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), or service-equivalent graduate
