Operational Planner

Key Role:

Provide input to Army and Joint counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) and explosive ordnance (EOD) plans, orders, policies, and programs. Conduct mission analysis to include staff estimates, courses of action, and decision support templates for campaign and contingency plans. Coordinate with Combatant Command (COCOM), other service component commands, and interagency stakeholders to properly plan, prepare, and resource strategic and operational requirements. Participate in or facilitate Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), bureaus, boards, cells, conferences, and working groups (B2C2WG) events, information paper development, operational and strategic assessments, and response to or creation of Requests for Information (RFIs). Participate in the analysis, and evaluation of policies, processes, posture, and systems for C-IED, EOD, and site exploitation. Support other initiatives and requirements, including organizational assessment and input to higher headquarters. Contribute to the synchronization of objectives, activities, and investments (OAI) across service command directorates and provide written reports and briefs to senior military audiences. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) or Joint Planning

  • Experience at Army Corps or higher level, or on Joint staff

  • Experience in an IED environment

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with JOPES

  • Experience in the Pacific theater

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of EOD, Site Exploitation (SE), or Weapons Technical Intelligence (WTI) plans and policies

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • PMP certification

  • Graduate of SAMS, Army FA59, or an Advanced Military Studies Program

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
