As a forward-stationed member and transportation liaison, you will provide logistics subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of logistics operations involving the U.S. and Japan partnership managed at the Combatant Command level. You will assist component commands, as required. You will coordinate and actively monitor the movement of personnel and equipment to, from, and through Japan. You will produce briefings on the status of operations aligned to the exercise program and contingency operations. You will formulate and coordinate responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) for inter and intra-theater transportation, distribution, supply, operational energy, munitions, and other sustainment commodity area functions. You will also conduct deliberate planning and assessment of regional distribution network.

You Have:  

  • 8+ years of experience as a military or government logistics and sustainment operations professional

  • 5+ years of experience with Joint Logistics operations and planning, working in all transportation modalities, including airlift and sealift 

  • 3+ years of experience in positions supporting the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility

  • Experience working with allies and partners on issues related to DoD distribution networks and Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE)

  • Experience with using data analytics to support logistics operations

  • Experience with Global Combat Support System (GCSS) Family of Systems, Integrated Data Environment (IDE)/Global Transportation Network (GTN), Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), and Single Mobility System (SMS) 

  • Knowledge of surface booking process, multinational reimbursement, DoD Transportation regulations governing policies, and laws contracting vessels

  • Ability to travel internationally

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with POM cycle and DoD budget processes

  • Experience as a staff liaison officer or forward-deployed logistician responsible for the equities of a distant parent command

  • Experience with All Partners Access Network (APAN)

  • Experience working with USTRANSCOM’s Deployment and Distribution Operations Center or a Regional Combatant Command DDOC

  • Experience working with Air Mobility Command or Pacific Air Forces Air Operations Centers, Military Sealift Command’s Operations Center or Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command’s Operations Center 

  • Experience with working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and across departments and commands

  • Experience with Logistics Operations at a US Fleet port, PACAF bases, or III MEF bases in Japan

  • Knowledge of Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) International Agreements Database
