Cloud Engineer, Senior

That’s why we need you, an engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with cloud-based resources, to help us modernize the DoD's

Unclassified Information Sharing System and All Partners Access Network. As a cloud engineer on our team, you’ll support efforts to for the engineering and development of Cloud solutions architecture and design patterns to meet technical requirements within the DoD’s architecture. You will serve as a hands-on Cloud engineer and leverage expertise in designing and building enterprise systems with a focus on Cloud migration and AWS solutions. You’ll contribute to enhancements of the unclassified environments, services and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and various on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll work with our DoD Client and stakeholders to inform strategy and architecture design. This is an opportunity to work with the latest cloud resources as you learn prototyping using multiple techniques and new technologies.

You Have:

-3 years of experience with building, delivering, deploying, and managing cloud solutions for the DoD

-Experience with migrating, building, and deploying applications to a public Cloud

-Experience with PowerShell and UNIX bash shell scripting

-Experience with SQL programming and database administration on SQL Server 2012, 2016, or 2019

-Knowledge of a broad variety of enterprise and Cloud data, software, and hardware solutions

-Ability to evaluate technology standards, tools, products, and solutions, make rational design decisions from a technical perspective, and communicate recommendations

-Ability to create documentation around the setup and implementation in one or more of the major Cloud providers, including AWS, such as GovCloud or Azure, such as GCC environments

-Ability to comprehend cloud engineering requirements for cloud systems and perform analysis to determine optimum outcomes in coordination with technical director and management

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Nice if You Have:

-Knowledge of automated DevSecOps pipeline deployment

-Knowledge of configuration management tools and techniques

-Knowledge of release and change management, including best practices for graduated deployments to Development, Test, and Staging Environments or Blue-Green deployments

-Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and firewall security design

-Knowledge of F5, Cisco FTM, Splunk SIEM, Sophos, Chef Infra, and Chef Automate

-Knowledge of Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019 administration

-Knowledge of Git, TFS, Subversion, or other software version control system

-Knowledge of Agile and Test-driven design methodologies

-Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies and design

-Knowledge of FedRAMP and DoD SRG requirements and FISMA security control requirements

-Knowledge of infrastructure layers, including VMware and RedHat Linux OS

-BA or BS degree in Software Engineering, CS, Computer Architecture, or a related field

-AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification
