Engineer Operations and Exercise Planner

Key Role:

Provide operational and exercise engineer planning support through the application of staff processes to enable client decision making. Synchronize and align engineer equities through the establishment of working groups and operational planning teams to support maritime planning. Review and provide input into planning products, strategic and operational policy, DoD directives, and other strategic documents in support of combatant commands and allies. Lead or participate in planning groups that utilize the Joint or Navy planning processes to analyze requirements, develop alternatives, and formulate recommendations. Collaborate with exercise planners and represent engineer equities at major planning conferences throughout the joint event life cycle. Assist with administrative and operational management of staff processes. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of experience as an operational or exercise planner at a combatant command, joint headquarters, or service component headquarters

  • 4+ years of experience with the Navy Planning Process or a joint or service equivalent 

  • Knowledge of the joint event life cycle and exercise planning

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience as an operational level engineer planner  

  • Experience as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer, Logistics Officer or service equivalent  

  • Ability to produce planning products, reports, and facilitate meetings with senior military staff 

  • Completion of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
