Aircraft Instrumentation and Electronics Technician

Key Role:

Design, fabricate, install, check, and maintain specialized instrumentation systems to measure and record test parameters in a variety of environmental, field, or laboratory conditions. Assist with the design, development, and fabrication of instrumentation systems using typical subsystems such as pulse code modulation telemetry, high speed video, airborne radar sensors, precision navigation sensors, and solid-state recorders. Oversee aircraft electronic system readings and system tests and prepare technical reports of the aircraft equipment, electronic systems, devices, and gear to support airborne electronic warfare and weapons development programs. Plan, organize, and establish schedules. Direct and support efforts for pre-flight post-flight check-out of aircraft instrumentation systems. Select or devise the basic approach necessary to meet test objectives, determine the techniques to be used, and design pre-flight and post-flight data reduction requirements. Travel on military and commercial aircraft and work outside of normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and overtime.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience in electronic systems and components associated with airborne and ground instrumentation systems

-Knowledge of basic electronic concepts

-Ability to convert theoretical ideas to functional components and systems

-Ability to interpretation of technical data, including drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems

-Ability to design, fabricate, install, and maintain specialized instrumentation systems that measure and record test parameters in a variety of environmental, field, or laboratory conditions

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-Government and Flight Line Driver's License

-TS/SCI clearance preferred
