Key Role:
Advise and assist with all exercise related work and provide direct support to an assigned lead regional planner, future operations staff, and other client staff, as required. Maintain continuity of planning and action for all assigned topics by participating in on and off island Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), as directed by an assigned lead regional planner or Assistant Chief of Staff. Provide analytical, technical, and logistical analysis and recommendations during the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) to achieve objectives per operation plans (OPLANs). Analyze the development of a recommended Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to assist with the exercise and assist with the development of official message traffic to support Joint events. Conduct analysis during all phases of the JELC and provide technical recommendations that meet client, Joint, and Major Subordinate Elements' (MSE) goals and training objectives. Attend joint, bilateral, or multinational planning conferences, working groups, and site surveys to gather data, plan, and provide recommendations to US government attendees on the conduct of military exercises. Assist with budget analysis to support exercise conferences, surveys, and execution.
Basic Qualifications:
-8 years of experience with the military
-3 years of experience with exercise planning for the Indo-Pacific region
-Ability to communicate complex data analysis topics with respect to assigned regions with senior leaders and their respective staff in both verbal and written formats
-Ability to apply information in applicable documents to advise in the design of an exercise construct that meets both theater security cooperation and training and readiness objectives
- Ability to advise leadership on means to achieve the above objectives within a fiscally responsible exercise construct
-Ability to conduct approximately 90 days of travel per year
-Active Secret clearance
-HS diploma or GED
-Completion of formal USMC schooling for Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) operations, including Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS)
