Quality Control Inspector

Key Role:

Perform quality control activities for our production and fabrication team in accordance with Booz Allen's Quality Management System. Perform inspections of in-process and completed products to confirm specifications, conduct visual and dimensional checks, identify issues, and record results. Work with the quality assurance (QA) team to resolve issues. Review, measure and inspect incoming materials, parts produced at outside vendors, and off-the-shelf parts, as well as associated documents, for acceptance. Maintain required logs for inspections, calibrated equipment, and other lists as necessary. Ensure that all production facility and lab equipment that is calibrated is maintained on the required schedule. Develop inspection checklists, process checklists, and other approaches to quality issues as necessary to support the fabrication and production team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with working as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment using tools, including meters, gauges, computers, and calipers
  • Experience with performing inspections of received, in-process, first article, and final mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Ability to produce reports
  • Ability to develop inspection and test approaches for parts produced in-house and items and materials received from third party vendors
  • Ability to collaborate with the production team, shipping and receiving, engineers, project managers, and Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with participating in material review boards and related documentation
  • Experience with performing inspections of electrical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft office
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • American Society of Quality Certified Quality Inspector/Technician Certification
