Government Affairs Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Researches and analyzes data to inform decisions surrounding foreign policy programs and initiatives for our military clients. Applies specific functional knowledge of the Department of Defense organizations and stakeholder organizations in the region. Develops and contributes to action-group team, including planning events, coordinating and collaborating on a variety of solutions to problem-sets facing the region.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with senior military officers, staff and congressional delegations, and foreign dignitaries

  • Experience in various planning activities, including itinerary development, site selection, creation of agenda and support materials, and coordination with host facilities

  • Knowledge of Navy command structure and organizations in the INDOPACOM region

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks including high-volume calendar management, correspondence, and review of multiple schedules

  • Ability to review and support content creation, including the development of reports containing collected data, graphics and assorted documents

  • Ability to support a team in researching current trends and data on foreign policy that impact the region

  • Secret clearance

  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with a component or combatant command staff

  • Experience with Navy Protocol Office procedures

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • MA or MS degree
