Network Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Analyze local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms, including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing. Manage internetworking of various operating systems, including Windows NT, 95, and one or more versions of UNIX, across both LAN and WAN. Monitor performance and stability of networks. Configure systems to user environments. Support acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with networking
-Experience with deploying networks in commercial or government environments
-Experience with maintaining and configuring firewalls, routers, and switches 
-Experience with troubleshooting network hardware and software
-Experience with researching network OS vulnerabilities and planning to patch in a timely manner
-Experience with Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word
-Knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, ARP, NAT, Routing, VPN, VLAN, Port Channeling, and VRRP
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with common network troubleshooting tools, including Wireshark and tcpdump

-Experience with operating across multiple tasks, working independently, and contributing to deliverables and performance metrics
-Experience with IDS or IPS
-Experience with VMware

-Knowledge of IPv6 planning and implementation 
-Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 2003 or 2008, and Linux or UNIX operating systems
-Ability to adapt to new situations quickly, work in a team environment, work with little supervision, and learn new technologies

-Secret clearance

-CCNP Certification
