Airborne Offensive Operations Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Support and assist with efforts to develop, organize, integrate, and program European Theater Operations (ETO) weapon system capabilities and gaps to support our Air Force clients Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)mission. Support policy development and operational plans, test and integration, readiness activities training and exercises, and capability development, including providing technical and analytical assistance to assess system capabilities and translate system requirements into resource evaluation and documentation products. Provide support to plan effectively, program, budget, and execute resource requirements and assist in performing capabilities, program, and cost analyses for new and modified systems, including managing, developing, and analyzing resource documentation for the core mission in support of program execution, including building and defending 4-Star decision data via the USAF Strategic Planning Process and directly influencing the POM process once those planning decisions are made. Assist and support efforts to accomplish studies, technical analysis, and reports and in developing and producing Air Operations Plans supporting joint and combined forces. Assist with the development of training objectives, scenarios, and vignettes for IAMD exercise and training events, coordinate and execute planning meetings to develop IAMD exercises and events with Joint and Allied partners, assist with the execution of these events. Produce capstone analyses and reports to inform the Requirements Generation, Strategic Planning, Programming, and Science and Technology process and identify and prioritize capability gaps and develop strategies toward defensible solutions for our clients IAMD mission.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as the staff of USAF MAJCOM or higher Air Force-level staff
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, staff, or working specific Operations Core Mission
  • 5+ years of experience the surface mission in a crew aircraft as a pilot or system officer, combat operations in F-15E or B-1
  • Experience with Operational Planning and Command and Control
  • Knowledge of IAMD doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), ETO threat matrix and IAMD gaps required 
  • Knowledge of Global Precision Attack Operations Core Function Mission
  • Ability to take the initiative and solve problems, work unsupervised, work outside the “box” and not be captured by “groupthink”
  • Ability to conduct research, develop operational and strategic plans, produce presentations, briefings, and background papers, provide detailed technical oral presentations and well-researched documents
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a rated operational F-15E, F-111, B-1, or F-4 Instructor Weapon System Officer
  • Experience as an AOC Chief of Combat Operations, Chief of Combat Plans, or Strategy Division Chief
  • Experience with Special Access Programs
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute ETO wide readiness verification exercises
  • MA, MS, or MBA degree
  • Weapon School Graduate
  • PMP Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
