European International Affairs Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Apply expertise in international relations and international affairs subject matter to US Air Force clients in Europe and Africa and leverage expertise in international relations and international affairs subject matter to improve advice and guidance to the US Air Force client and provide additional operational capacity to support DoD security objectives. Coordinate precedent-setting, sensitive pol-mil government affairs between client senior leadership, staff, and host nation government officials at the federal, state, and regional levels. Monitor current events, conduct comparative analyses pertaining to historical records, and determine the significance of military, political, economic, and social developments. Analyze multiple information sources to provide an understanding of security issues, foreign affairs, the operational environments, including the political, military, economic, social, information, infrastructure, and physical environment of the area, trends, or current crises and advise leadership on situations with foreign policy implications. Develop bullet background papers, briefings, trip books, talking points, and other deliverables. This position requires travel throughout Europe.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience with DoD or Department of State (DoS) entities

-6+ years of experience with US Embassy teams and security cooperation or security assistance programs as a political-military advisor

-Knowledge of formal DoD, DOS, and USAF staffing processes

-Knowledge of foreign military sales (FMS) processes

-Ability to travel throughout the European AOR

-Active Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Active Top Secret clearance

-MA or MS degree
