Key Role:
Provide exercise planning and subject matter expertise support to a US component headquarters air operations center. Support Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and ballistic missile defense (BMD) plans, programs, exercises, training and operations through analysis and planning. Prepare recommendations facilitating IAMD and BMD joint and coalition operations, exercises, and training. Analyze, develop, and assess combatant command exercise programs that support deliberate plans and concepts of operations, recommending improvements, as required. Analyze, assess, and make recommendations to improve exercise strategies and policies ensuring alignment with DoD, partner organizations, and coalition strategies and policies, including building & briefing 4-Star level decision data and directly influencing IAMD exercise program processes. Assist with the development of training objectives, scenarios, and vignettes for IAMD exercise and training events; coordinate and execute planning meetings to develop IAMD exercises and events with Joint and Partner organizations while assisting with the execution of these events.
Basic Qualifications:
6+ years experience with air and missile defense plans, programs, and operations
3+ years experience as an exercise designer, planner or executor at the Brigade-equivalent level or higher
Experience with developing, writing, and articulating to senior military leaders multi-national exercise objectives, plans and defense designs
Experience with air and missile defense system operations, joint or combined military staff processes, joint military planning, modeling and simulations, radar systems, data link architectures, joint and combined command and control, and US government intelligence sources
Knowledge of European Theater of Operations (ETO), IAMD plans, exercises, and threats
Ability to take initiative and solve problems, produce senior-officer level presentations, briefings, and background papers, provide detailed and well researched documents, and plan, coordinate, and execute operations and exercises
Secret clearance
BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with creating, editing and executing exercise specific Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), Training Objective (TO), and Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) input
Experience with analyzing international policy and security regarding missile defense
Experience with EUCOM force structure and DoD component commands
Experience with joint exercise planning systems and tools
Knowledge of joint, allied and partner air and missile defense systems, joint and combined military plans, and exercise modeling and simulation
Knowledge of DoD exercise planning, programming, and budgeting process and Joint requirements development and approval process
MA or MS degree
Clearance:
