Joint All-Domain Command and Control Tactical Data Link SME, Senior

Key Role:

Provide operational and exercise communications architecture support to enable and facilitate a U.S. Component air operations center (AOC) requirements. Identify and integrate accessible and resilient network architectures, processes, and engineering designs including, but not limited to, new networks, cross-domain solutions, new interface devices, new applications and systems, and Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) systems and capabilities employed by the Component AOC. Provide subject matter expertise to planning and architectural design concepts that provide integrated interoperable processing and fusion capabilities and integrated all-domain awareness presentation in support of multiple Combatant Command’s Area Air Defense Commander during exercise and real-world contingency operations. Support the development of technical and operational solutions that facilitate unity of effort through collaborative sharing for a common purpose of joint, allied and coalition air, space and missile defense capabilities, enhance concurrent execution of the counter air framework, and facilitate JADC2 defense systems into AOC operations, exercises, and training. Inform the planning, coordination, development, and execution of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance architecture for theater interoperability with joint services, allies, and partners. Participate in planning, execution, and assessments of theater-specific exercises, experiments, demonstrations, and training events focused on interoperability, integration, and enduring architectures in order to provide new and innovative solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering role, including the architecture and design of complex distributed communications, network and IT systems environments
  • 6+ years of experience with enterprise-scale networks
  • 3+ years of experience with DoD mission analysis or system of systems engineering in an operational communications support role
  • Experience with architecting, designing, securing, installing, troubleshooting, and documenting integrated network and network Operations solutions
  • Knowledge of IT management principles, including ITIL and the DoD Enterprise Service Management Framework (DESMF)
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD-level Mission Engineering activities
  • Knowledge of deep subject matter expertise in at least one DoD mission, functional, or technology areas
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and communicate with senior civilian and military leadership at the MAJCOM, OSD and Joint Staff
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
