Security Cooperation Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Provide subject matter expertise for the planning, coordinating, resourcing, and execution of partner nation engagements, including combined exercises and subject matter expert exchanges, under a Service component’s theater campaign support plan and Combatant Command campaign plan framework. Coordinate and synchronize with the Service component’s headquarters, Combatant Commands and other service component commands, major subordinate commands, direct reporting units, and country team officials to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of partner nation engagements.  Support budget analyses, global force management utilization, and analyses of bilateral and multilateral partner nation engagement objectives to ensure alignment with combatant command and service component security cooperation objectives.  Use DoD security cooperation information management systems to inform senior leadership on plans, programs, and activities within partner nations across multiple combatant commands. You will need to be able to travel internationally for this role.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience working with DoD security cooperation or security assistance programs; to include policy and program management
  • 3 years of experience with planning, coordinating, and executing events with foreign security forces personnel
  • Experience with the analysis, preparation, and presentation of data to leadership
  • Knowledge of formal USAF and DoD staffing and coordination processes
  • Ability to be a self-starter, work independently and as part of a team, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, analyze complex data, and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Active Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree in International Relations or Foreign Policy

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with researching and analyzing legislation and federal regulations and policy
  • Experience in the US European Command (EUCOM), US Africa Command (AFRICOM), US Air Forces in Europe, or Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) areas of responsibility (AOR)
  • Knowledge of US Embassy organization and process and experience coordinating activities with the Department of State and US embassies
  • Experience with Global Force Management (GFM) processes
  • Experience using the Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G-TSCMIS)
  • MA or MS degree in International Relations, Foreign Policy, or a related subject matter
  • Completion of Defense Security Cooperation University courses
