Command and Control Subject Matter Expert, Senior

Key Role:
Support and assist with efforts to develop, organize, integrate, and program European Theater Operations (ETO) weapon system capabilities and gaps to support an Air Force client's integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) mission. Support policy development and operational plans, test and integration, readiness activities, including training and exercises, and capability development, including providing technical and analytical assistance to assess weapon system capabilities and translate system requirements into resource evaluation and documentation products. Provide support to effectively plan, program, budget, and execute resource requirements and assist with performing capabilities, program, and cost analyses for new and modified systems including managing, developing, and analyzing resource documentation for the client mission in support of program execution. Build and defend 4-Star decision data via the USAF Strategic Planning process and directly influence the POM process once those planning decisions are made. Assist and support efforts to accomplish studies, technical analysis, and reports and in analyze the development and production of USAFE Air Operations plans supporting joint and combined forces. Assist with the development of training objectives, scenarios, and vignettes for IAMD exercise and training events, coordinate and execute planning meetings to develop IAMD exercises and events with Joint and international partners, and assist with the execution of these events. Produce capstone analyses and reports to inform the Requirements Generation, Strategic Planning, Programming, and Science and Technology process and identify and prioritize capability gaps and develop strategies toward defensible solutions for the client's mission.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as USAF MAJCOM or higher Air Force-level staff
  • 5+ years of experience with operations, staff, or working specific operational or a tactical Command and Control Core mission
  • 3+ years of experience with airspace air defense planning and airspace coordination order development
  • 3+ years of experience with operational C2 control
  • Experience with Air Operations Center (AOC) operations processes and doctrine
  • Experience with Command and Control, including from Ground-Based C2 systems, including a Control and Reporting Center, Tactical Air Operations Center, or Air Operations Center
  • Knowledge of IAMD doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), including the European Theater of Operations (ETO) threat matrix and IAMD gaps
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems, work unsupervised, conduct research, develop operational and strategic plans, produce presentations, briefings, and background papers, and provide detailed technical verbal presentations and researched documents
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience as an AOC Chief of Combat Operations, Chief of Combat Plans, or Strategy Division Chief
  • Experience with Special Access Programs
  • Knowledge of the surface C2 Core Function mission
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute ETO wide readiness verification exercises
  • Master’s degree
  • Weapon School Graduate
  • PMP Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
