NIAPS Support Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a database administrator who specializing in providing technical support, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting the Navy Information/Application Product Suite (NIAPS) program.

On our team, you’ll support various Navy applications in support of NIAPS. This will involve helpdesk support for all Advanced Technical Information System (ATIS) variants release to the fleet and shore commands. You will also provide Library Management Training to Fleet Personnel, acting as an Application Development Advisor for new fleet releases of ATIS and Transportation Library Management Software (TLMS) in support of Fleet releases. You’ll provide shipboard training to ensure the Standard Navy Information Publishing Process (SNIPP) systems installations are complete, ship unique data is downloaded and properly installed in ship records, and ship’s force personnel will be enabled to operate the SNIPP and ATIS systems. Additionally, you will assist in the installation and checkout of all SNIPP systems and applications and provide Logistic Support Services for the delivery and tracking of ATIS computer stations. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you contribute and assist with the development of policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools like the Navy Integrated Application Suite Server aboard ships and submarines to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database. 

In this role, you’ll closely impact Navy operations by conducting system administration, tech library management training, user training, and health assessments on fleet libraries. With your technical experience, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we’ll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

You Have:   

  • 3+ years of experience with the Naval Logistics Library (NLL) 
  • 3+ years of experience with surface and subsurface operations and information processing network environments
  • Ability to conduct training to Sailors
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • CompTIA Security+ SYS-401+ Continuing Education (CE) Certification

  • 3+ years of experience with electronics and computer technology or information system technology 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Computer Technology or Information System Technology
  • CSSP Certification

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
