Exercise Planner, Senior

Key Role: 

Prepare input for an Army client through the development and approval of theater-level and component DoD force requirements as the exercise lead in a Combatant Command's Joint Training Information Management System (JTMIS). Plan and conduct bilateral theater exercises as a lead, including assigning milestones, developing scenario design and exercise objectives and all required bilateral exercise documents. Develop theater-level exercise design concepts, scenarios, and training objectives with direct correlation to Core Mission Essential Task List (CMETL) and Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL) tasks and client guidance. Conduct detailed exercise observation, analysis, and assessment. Plan and conduct detailed Plan Identifier (PID) strategic lift conferences to confirm all movement requirements and proposed budget to support client theater exercises as the executive agent for the Joint Exercise Transportation Program (JETP) for all theater exercises.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with operational planning at the battalion, brigade, and division levels

-2+ years of experience with Joint exercises, including training, developing, and executing theater-level objectives and scenarios, including JOPES, JTIMS, and JELC milestones as a retired Colonel (COL) or Lieutenant Colonel (LTC)

-2 years of experience with Joint Staff or Sub-Unified Commands at the field grade level

-Experience with the Republic of Korea (ROK) as a Field Grade Officer in the DoD or Army

-Experience with US military transformation objectives as they pertain to planning and executing roles and missions for transformation into an ROK-lead future command

-Experience with planning and executing Combined and Joint Force exercises, including the ROK area's transformation objectives

-Experience with Joint exercise consulting services and the Combatant Command's theater campaign plan

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Graduate of a Senior Service College or 10 years of experience with commanding a brigade or battalion

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to provide detailed input to the client regarding the development of annual theater-level exercise schedules and supporting budgets

-Top Secret clearance preferred
