Key Role:
Apply expertise in NATO planning and joint planning processes to incorporate allied considerations, including structure, process, doctrine, and operations into contingency planning. Coordinate with multinational organizations to advocate for US capabilities in their plans. Participate in Joint Planning Groups and prepare briefings, whitepapers, and other deliverables to senior decision makers. This position requires travel of up to 25% of the time throughout Europe.
Basic Qualifications:
-4+ years of experience with the US military or DoD at a NATO military organization or agency, Service Headquarters, Service Component Headquarters, or Combatant Command
-2+ years of experience as a Joint Planner
-2+ years of experience with NATO planning at NATO headquarters
-Experience with the DoD Joint Planning Process, Contingency Planning Process, or Military Decision Making Process (MDMP)
-Ability to create client-ready documents, reports, and briefings for senior-level clients
-Ability to travel internationally for up to 25% of the time
-TS/SCI clearance
-BA or BS degree
-Completion of Staff College or its equivalent
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with coordinating and collaborating across European Command structures to conduct planning
-Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
-MA or MS degree
-Completion of DISCS Security Cooperation Management Policy, Programs, and Planning (SCM-P3) or related courses
-Completion of Joint Professional Military Education Phase I or II
Clearance:
