Counter-IED Planner

Key Role:

Provide C-IED planning and project management support to train, equip, advise, and assist partner nation C-IED capabilities. Participate in all facets of planning, including mission analysis, course of action development, multi-nodal analysis, operational concept development and project management of C-IED security force assistance activities for government review.  Serve as the subject matter expert in C-IED strategy design and implementation, working with international partners to incorporate international standards into standardized academic programs. Review programs of instruction, serve as technical advisor to various missions requiring curriculum review and development, work with humanitarian programs in assessing, monitoring, and evaluating partner nations' developmental progress in demining, EOD, and C-IED needs. Conduct periodic program reviews of training programs. Travel to liaise with international partners, trainers, and organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with the DoD

-Experience with C-IED planning, strategy development, and implementing security force assistance programs

-Experience with formal military education training techniques from development and management to facilitation

-Experience in working and coordinating with international EOD or C-IED organizations

-Experience with operational and tactical EOD, engineer, or combat arms

-Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

-TS/SCI clearance required

-BA or BS degree required

-Graduate of a Navy School Explosive Ordnance Disposal School (NAVSCOLEOD) or Hazardous Devices School 

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with interagency partners

-Experience at a Joint or Combined HQ

-Ability to be a highly flexible self-starter capable of operating in a high-tempo environment under less than ideal time-management conditions

-Ability to work with teams or independently, as required

-Possession of excellent analytical skills at the strategic and operational levels

-Possession of excellent oral and written communications, research, and organizational skills
