IW/UW Planning SME

Key Role:

Perform strategic analysis to determine the degree to which United States Special Operations' capabilities and operations impact operational and strategic objectives. Conduct methodical research and provide empirical evidence about how Special Operations' operations, actions, and investments (OAI) affect the achievement of campaign plan objectives. Evaluate the operational environment by conducting analysis of Special Operations OAIs in the context of campaign plans to determine how these efforts affect campaign plan objectives. Distill large volumes of data to product high-fidelity, highly distilled, qualitative results, clearly, concisely, and effectively communicate findings in writing and verbal communication, and organize, plan, and author finished analysis reports.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with irregular warfare (IW) or unconventional warfare (UW), counter threats, or counter weapon of mass destruction (CWMD) operations or security cooperation (SC) authorities as an industry or government professional or 5+ years of experience with specialized military work

-Experience in conducting preparation of the environment activities and sensitive activities programs and advising, assisting, and accompanying roles with partner nations

-Experience with analyzing capabilities to support a force provider or Combatant Command, including the relationships between Combatant Commands and force providers

-Ability to to quickly assimilate into and contribute to a multi-functional team

-TS/SCI clearance

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as a field-grade or chief warrant officer

-Experience with specialized military groups

-Possession of excellent research, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in International Relations, Political Science, or related field
