Open Source Researcher

Key Role:

Work as an open source researcher using cutting-edge open source research techniques, including social media exploitation and Big Data exploitation, to provide support to the US European Command (USEUCOM) in the areas of Force Protection (FP), Indications and Warning (I&W), Counterintelligence (CI), all-source intelligence integration, anticipatory intelligence, media monitoring, and information assessments and operations across USEUCOM and staff as it relates to USEUCOM theater priorities and primary security threats. Work in a fast-paced, challenging environment to produce quick-turn high quality General Officer / Flag Officer (GO/FO) level products and dive into areas of client interest to rigorously evaluate networks and discover trends. Provide risk assessment from across a range of topics and geographies, including transnational and critical infrastructure threats, military capabilities, leadership intentions, and threat networks. This position requires the ability to travel to attend information exchanges or workshops and engage with international allies and partner nations on topics germane to the areas of expertise, as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with the DoD or intelligence community (IC)

-3+ years of experience in working with open source or social media

-3+ years of experience with performing link analysis or trend identification to ascertain linkages and patterns, including those associated with crisis activity, incidents, and defense operations in an academic or professional environment

-Ability to conduct in-depth research, produce thorough, accurate reports, and communicate results through briefings, written reports, and verbal presentations, including to senior government leaders

-Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS, as needed

-Active TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in working with intelligence or information derived from intelligence

-Experience with partner nation engagement activities or information sharing on behalf of the US government

-Knowledge of the EUCOM area of operations and Combatant Command structure

-Ability to leverage expertise in an Eastern European language

-MA or MS degree in International Relations, Political Science, Political Economy, International Relations, or a related field
