Security Cooperation Planner

Key Role:

Provide security cooperation planning and operations support to Component and Combatant Command clients, including the assessment, planning, coordination, and execution of programs. Conduct analysis, provide recommendations, and support staff planning Support component-level participation in combatant command and Service planning conferences, working groups, and staff processes to align service capabilities and activities with Joint and service strategic objectives. Leverage decision-support products to inform senior-leader decisions.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience with building and sustaining international partner relationships 
  • Experience with defense security cooperation concepts, procedures, and execution, as conducted by Combatant Commands 
  • Experience with supporting Defense operations, strategy, policy analysis, or planning with Service, Joint, non-defense organizations, or foreign nations 
  • Experience with strategic or operational partnerships supporting military service elements, Joint Commands, Defense agencies, non-defense organizations, or foreign nations 
  • Experience with working in military service or Joint staff, including supporting senior military personnel and civilians 
  • TS/SCI clearance  
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience in working with US Embassy country teams, theater combatant commanders, and foreign partners to establish and maintain relationships supportive of DoD objectives 
  • Knowledge of AFRICOM AOR
