Key Role:
Serve as an action officer for Special Operations and select alternative compensatory control measures (ACCM) planning and operations support. Support planning and coordination efforts for counter threat (CT), Special Operations activities, crisis, and contingency operations. Provide support in developing and revising long-term program goals, objectives, plans, and milestones for strategic level planning efforts. Support planning efforts related to CJCS Special Operations unique CONPLANs and other named Joint Operations and support the development of Concept of Operations (CONOPs) and Courses of Action (CoAs). Coordinate, manage, and facilitate large group operational planning team (OPT) activities to achieve feasible, acceptable, and suitable operational plans. Apply the JPP in a compressed timeline to achieve effective cross-directorate crisis action planning. Collaborate and synchronize Special Operations and crisis/contingency planning efforts across Joint Staff (JS), to include other key agencies for the conduct of Special Operations to support the Combatant Command.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in providing support to Joint Special Operations Command at operational to strategic level
5+ years of experience in the military or with the DoD with joint doctrine and counter threat, operational, or strategic planning
Experience with Microsoft Office software suite and applications
Ability to be a self-starter capable of operating in a high-tempo environment under less-than-ideal time-management conditions
Ability to travel as needed
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree
Additional Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in providing Joint and Interagency planning support at the Combatant Command (CCMD) or Joint Staff (JS) level
Experience planning with CCMDs
Knowledge of EUCOM AOR
Possession of strong analytical skills at the strategic or operational level
Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills
Possession of strong organization skills
