The Challenge:

As a cloud data engineer on our team, you’ll support efforts to design a cloud based data solution to support the client’s scientific mission data repository. You’ll recommend standards, tools, and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on premise, cloud based, and hybrid resources. You’ll explore how to help customers overcome their most difficult challenges in cloud data storage. You’ll work with the client’s technical leads to implement strategy and architecture design. Additionally, you will lead the planning, designing and deployment of hybrid on-premise and cloud architecture solutions for use in a next-gen platform enabling data science and advanced analytics applications leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, automation, cloud based security, and Big Data.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience with designing, implementing, or consulting with technical architectures and applications deployed in on-premise, hybrid, and Cloud environments using cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
• 5+ years of experience with system or architecture administration and configurating networking, containerization, VM, system, and software installation, user management, system configuration, Python scripting, and system sizing 
• 5+ years of experience with software development, infrastructure, or Cloud operations role
• 3+ years of experience with database architecture and design
• Experience with multiple operating systems and languages
• Experience with planning and implementing large-sized databases
• Experience with JupyterHub
• Experience with developing and managing machine images or templates to automate Cloud Deployments, including Infrastructure As Code (IAC)
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• BA or BS degree
