DevOps Engineer, Senior

The right candidate will have technical expertise and experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline development to rapidly evolve autonomous capabilities in Unmanned Maritime Vehicles (UMVs).

As a Tools Lead on our team, you will have the chance to help bring the vision of a Software Factory for autonomous development to life for a Navy client. You will apply specialized knowledge of cloud-specific technologies and services, leverage expertise in the Cloud Command Line Interfaces (CLI) and Cloud SDKs, comprehend cloud architectural constructs, and establish and maintain cloud environments programmatically using vendor consoles or third party tools. You will build enterprise systems and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions to provide direct technical engineering, deployment, and sustainment support across the Cloud architecture and solution life cycles.

You’ll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of cloud-based resources. You’ll work with our cloud team to inform strategy and architecture design. You will be responsible for implementing design patterns for distributed systems and configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines. You Have: 

  • 5+ years of experience with professional IT

  • 2+ years of experience with designing deployments of IaC and CaC via tools, including Terraform or Helm

  • 2+ years of experience with DevSecOps and using CI/CD tools, including Gitlab, Git, and Kubernetes

  • Experience with engineering solutions in a multi-cloud environment, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) services

  • Knowledge of microservice design and architectural patterns

  • Knowledge of allocating, configuring, and monitoring cloud-based resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Security + Certification

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with Zero Trust

  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering

  • Ability to follow established systems engineering and software development principles

  • Ability to work within a collaborative team in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Ability to be a self-motivated and continuous learner

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
