Exercise Design Analyst

Key Role:

Assist in Marine Task Force exercises, US unilateral event planning, and bilateral and multilateral event planning, through application of the USMC and Joint Planning Processes with a focus on improving readiness for Marine Corps, major subordinate element (MSE), and major subordinate command (MSC) operations and deployments. Coordinate exercise event support and the collation of after-action reports and apply exercise design ensuring Operations Plan and Contingency Plan (OPLAN and CONPLAN) requirements and service specific priorities are incorporated into each exercise or event. Coordinate with USMC, US Navy and Joint Force planners and exercise analysts in support of current and future exercises. Contribute on the corresponding data analysis to design relevant, accurate, and realistic exercise materials that result in improved organizational mission performance, including planning, coordinating, and conducting Live-Virtual-Constructive exercise support. Develop and deliver staff products in support of exercises and events, including information and decision briefs, in-progress reviews, papers to support exercise and event design, training objectives, exercise event agreements, scenario development briefs, exercise control design briefs, Intelligence, Operations, Fires, targeting processes, and support to training and readiness analysis. Develop exercise control recommendations and support internal exercise event assessment, coordinate the design and implementation of exercise storylines, vignettes, and Master Scenario Events Lists and manage dynamic scripting during the exercise to ensure all training objectives are met. This position will require travel of up to 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process

  • 3 years of experience with the five stages of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC)

  • 3+ years of experience in the Marine Corps serving at the Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) and Marine Air Ground Task force (MAGTF) level

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience with Exercise Design for Marine Expeditionary Force, Division, Marine Air Wing, or Marine Logistics Group

  • Experience in working with and participating in exercises directed by US Indo-Pacific Command, US Marine Forces Pacific, I MEF, or its Major Subordinate Commands

  • Experience with the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) or Service equivalent

  • PMP Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
