Environmental Specialist

Key Role:

Apply environmental expertise to a military posture management office to ensure compliance with regulatory environmental programs supporting the posture construction program. Coordinate with Service Component environmental specialists to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into Joint Area Development Plans, real estate planning, and construction designs. Provide support to construction program managers to minimize risk to program cost, schedule, and performance by enhancing program environmental compliance. Prepare, research, and review, environmental and technical documents, and reports. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) processes

  • Experience as subject matter expert on analyzing policies under the NEPA, natural and cultural resources  

  • Experience with environmental planning, management, compliance, and law for planning purposes as necessary for various construction efforts 

  • Knowledge of NEPA regulations and legal precedents, and federal environmental laws and requirements

  • Knowledge of NEPA compliance procedures, policies, and guidance 

  • Experience in the INDOPACOM area of responsibility

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the U.S. Army or Navy
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Possession of excellent independent thinking and customer service skills, including daily interaction with various levels of rank and authority, and military and civilians 

  • Certified environmental professional or scientist Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
