Cybersecurity Requirements Specialist

The Opportunity:

When a user tries a new system, they expect it to be intuitive and secure. Functionality, reliability, and security are key to successful cybersecurity requirements. That’s why we need you, a Cybersecurity Requirements Specialist who knows how to thoroughly develop innovative solutions to complex cyber risk problems. You'll apply technical solutions working in virtualized environments. You'll design requirements to protect systems from cyber attacks and coordinate with various teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s cybersecurity needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. You'll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You'll lead the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions, to maintain a balance of security and mission needs.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong understanding of the Army's tactical systems. You'll also need to be familiar with the Army's modernization efforts. Your knowledge of the Army's tactical systems will enable you to develop and design requirements that are tailored to the unique needs of the Army's systems and to collaborate effectively with Army stakeholders to ensure that our systems meets their cybersecurity requirements.

You Have:

  • Experience with Security Gap identification and mitigation

  • Experience building security requirements for systems or operations

  • Experience applying broad cyber security principals in the development of security or secured design requirements

  • Experience with symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms or technologies, keying materials, PKI certificates, and security life cycle management

  • Knowledge of security technologies and devices, such as network firewalls, web proxies, intrusion prevention systems and intrusion detection systems

  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) or DoD security controls

  • Ability to work with customers, clients, or stakeholders to perform security vs operational tradeoffs analysis

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience with certification of Tactical Devices or High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor(HAIPE) certified devices or 5+ years of experience with certification of Tactical Devices or High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor(HAIPE) certified devices in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with NIST or DoD direct security support

  • Experience with cyber hardening, vulnerability management, scanning, assessment, or tools

  • Experience with DoD approval such as registration, certification, or approvals, processes, and requirements

  • Knowledge of MagicDraw

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • DoD 8570 Level I Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
