Strategic Communications Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a proficient communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and promote an organization’s reputation and goals. We’re looking for an experienced communications professional like you who is ready to lead and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll share your consulting expertise to oversee the design, development, and production of a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to increase awareness and understanding of program mission and goals from both internal and external audiences.

As the organizational advisor of all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll develop a variety of different products and content, including communications plans, standard operating procedures, articles, website content, social media content, talking points, executive briefings, and annual reports.

You Have:   

  • 5+ years of experience with strategic communications and outreach, including stakeholder analysis and strategies, developing and overseeing content strategies for a wide variety of written products for various audiences, and working with and advising senior leaders on executive messaging and products
  • Experience translating technical, industry, or military concepts to a variety of audiences and stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Experience as a content editor, proofreading for grammar, clarity, and intent of product
  • Ability to work with and advise senior leaders, respond to and recommend courses of action with changing priorities, and adapt writing style to meet the needs of audiences at various levels
  • Ability to be a proactive self-starter and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience with the DoD or U.S. Navy community
  • Ability to be professional and show enthusiasm for client and teammate collaboration
  • Possession of excellent relationship management skills, including interpersonal and team working skills
  • Possession of excellent listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
