HL7 LIMS Implementation Specialist

The Opportunity: 

Are you looking for an opportunity to create technical synergy that will modernize federal infrastructure? As an integration engineer, you know the importance of ensuring systems work together. You’re eager to apply your consulting experience and technical knowledge to implement creative solutions. 

 

On our team, you’ll design, develop, and implement solutions for software integration projects across functions or between organizations that’ll directly impact public health. Using the Agile framework, you’ll work alongside software development engineers to deploy, configure, and integrate software applications. You'll aid in the planning, organizing, and the conducting of integration projects that meet design specifications and standards from inception to completion. In this role, you’ll impact the public health space and gain access to opportunities to learn new tools and skills. We focus on growing and collaborating as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

You Have: 

  • 4+ years of experience with laboratory information management systems  

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, Java, or .NET

  • 2+ years of experience in HL7 mapping or HL7 message processing 

  • Experience in systems analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies to develop quality technical solutions 

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining healthcare information systems services 

  • Knowledge of healthcare information systems or public health surveillance and laboratory solutions 

  • Ability to align business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards 

  • Ability to serve as a liaison between the health department and IT 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree 

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience working with State Health Departments 

  • Experience working with ELR, ETOR, and APHL 

  • Knowledge of public health LIMS, including STARLIMS or Orchard 

  • Knowledge of HL7 2.5.1 implementation guides 

  • Knowledge of biology, including microbiology

  • Master's degree in Business, Management, Public Health, or Health Informatics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
