The Opportunity: 

Booz Allen's Digital Battlespace Team is seeking an experienced full-stack machine learning engineer to build innovative new applications and products in the defense market. As a full stack ML engineer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. As a senior full-stack ML engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your passion to master new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.  You'll work with warfighters across command and control (C2), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and Special Missions to build tools and systems that support DoD mission goals.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and machine learning delivering high quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions 

  • Experience with leveraging ML frameworks, such as TesorFlow or PyTorch or developing ML inference pipelines in environments, such as DataBricks or AWS SageMaker 

  • Experience with developing in modern front-end technologies, such HTML, CSS, JavaScript and front-end frameworks or libraries, such as React.js or Angular 

  • Experience with back-end development using server-side languages and frameworks, such as Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), or Java (Spring Boot), including experience with RESTful APIs and microservice architectures 

  • Experience working with database management systems SQL or NoSQL, including database design, optimization, and querying using databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB 

  • Experience working with version control systems, such as Git, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts, and experience with code review processes and collaboration tools like GitHub or GitLab 

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including familiarity with cloud native tools, such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions 

  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and container orchestrations platforms like Kubernetes 

  • Experience working in Agile development environments, particularly Scrum, including experience participating in sprint planning, stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, and retrospectives 

  • Knowledge of software testing principles and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing 

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, including use of technologies, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Jenkins

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 

  • Possession of excellent communication and collaboration skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
