Oracle Database Administrator

Key Role:

Provide technical support for DoD employees needing IT assistance or services on NMCI and DoD legacy networks. Leverage knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) systems and provide database support, perform maintenance and troubleshoot issues coordinating with end-users, DBAs and server administrators as necessary. Provide guidance to application users, testers, developers, and other team members for understanding functionality, scalability, performance, security and integration requirements from the database perspective. Develop and maintain comprehension of the database architecture and general application functionality to maintain data confidentiality, integrity and availability. Perform installation of routine and emergency database patches, upgrades and backups. Monitor database audit trails to ensure meeting regulatory compliance. Review and analyze Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) against the Oracle database environment and WebLogic environment. Perform monitoring, audit trail analysis, performance tuning, backups and recovery of databases using Oracle tools and utilities. Perform initial testing of new systems and analyze any resulting test failures. Research Oracle database business process solutions and assist in determining the viability of adopting them in the client environment. This position is located in Bremerton, WA.

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 3+ years of experience using Oracle 10g, 11g, 12g, or 19c
  • Experience working in a professional environment
  • Experience using Oracle tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Toad, Golden Gate, RMAN, WebLogic and Data Guard
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems and platforms and query languages to maintain database operations and to perform error diagnostics and maintenance
  • Knowledge of applying data mining, data storage, and data warehousing concepts, methods, and technology
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CompTIA Security+ or information assurance certification

Additional Qualifications:  

  • Experience working in government environment
  • Experience in mitigating Security Technical Implementation Guides findings
  • Knowledge of the concept of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related technical degree
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
