Information Environment Operational Planner, Senior

Key Role:

Deliver tailored operational and training support that enables commanders to attain mission readiness and objectives using the Marine Corps and joint planning process. Support application of the full spectrum of Information Related Capabilities in the development of Marine Corps operational plans, policies, and orders. Provide subject matter expertise in operations in the information environment (OIE) to ensure synchronization with higher headquarters in the development of operations plans and orders. Coordinate with Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), Marine Forces Commands (MARFOR), and Naval forces Commands (NAVFOR) to facilitate naval integration and the conduct of information warfighting across competition, operations plans, contingency plans, and exercises. Lead and support planning teams and conferences.  Provide recommendations that define future requirements, capabilities, and concepts to support the OIE and linkages with Geographic Combatant Commands (GCC), Marine Forces Commands (MARFOR), Naval forces Commands (NAVFOR), and other Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTF). 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with Marine Corps as a senior staff member, including Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB), and Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU)
  • 5+ years of experience with Information Related Capabilities and functions
  • 5+ years of experience with Marine Corps and Joint planning processes
  • 3+ years of experience with Marine Corps and Joint exercise design
  • 2+ years of experience with command, control, computers, communications, cyber-defense, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISRT) systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • MA or MS degree
  • Graduate of School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS), or Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in an Information warfighting organization within the past 3 years
  • Experience on joint force staff
  • Experience in training and exercise employment plan (TEEP) development and Information Management/Knowledge Management (IM/KM)
  • MS degree
  • Completion of Top Level School, Psychological Operations Military Operational Specialty, Joint Military Information Support Operations, Joint Deception in Support of Operations, Civil Affairs, or Joint Space course
