Financial Audit Reporting Professional

Key Role:

Conduct and document complex financial analysis projects, including auditing, forecasting, and analysis. Research financial and economic trends and develop short-term forecasts to ensure management's comprehension of rate and budgeted issues. Ensure compliance with internal procedures and government regulations while conducting and leading audits and support the Department of the Navy's Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) efforts to meet the congressionally mandated deadline to achieve fully auditable financial statements. Perform a wide variety of analysis and reporting on DoD audit and A-123 initiatives, including collecting and analyzing data sets and developing executive-level briefings and reports. Communicate with client stakeholders and subject matter professionals both verbally and in writing, maintain a working relationship with clients, and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services. Work closely with the client and team to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues while providing leadership to junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with accounting, auditing, or financial management

-Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and developing executive-level briefings

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel

-Knowledge of financial statements for federal accounting, including general ledgers, such as the United States Government Standard Ledger (USSGL)

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with financial audits

-Experience in the FIAR community a plus

-Knowledge of DoD financial management practices or business processes preferred

-Knowledge of A-123, GAAP, GAAS, or similar accounting preferred

-Ability to excel in a culture with a high degree of ambiguity

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

-MA or MS degree preferred

-PMP, CDFM, CIA, or CGFM Certification preferred

-CPA License preferred
