Database Administrator

What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting the Special Communications Missions Solution (SCMS)? We’re looking for a systems administrator on a Windows 2012/2016 platform to help us maintain and support an application hosting Oracle database and form components as well as a web solution.

As a systems administrator on our project, you’ll work with the current administrator to ensure the servers and applications run smoothly and optimally. You’ll learn how to help customers overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. You’ll analyze problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You’ll be able to combine your technical experience with communication skills as you turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning. This is an opportunity to gain experience in working on DoD government systems. We focus on growing as a team, so we’ll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. Work as part of a part of a small team supporting a Navy financial system as database and systems administrator. Perform routine performance monitoring and tuning of a Windows 2012/2016 server hosting Oracle database and forms applications. Perform updates to a server for monthly Windows server patches and quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPU) from Oracle. Immediately support a senior system database administrator (DBA) with maintaining systems and troubleshooting. Apply expertise in maintaining and supporting an application built over Oracle 11g/12c and Java and Oracle's dependency upon it. Perform backups of servers, monitor logs, and perform data imports and exports, when requested. Leverage expertise in working with virtual machines to support the development team.

You Have:

-Experience as a DBA

-Knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016

-Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in CS, CIS, MIS, or Engineering
