University - Systems Engineer

A Day in the Life of a Systems Engineer at Booz Allen:

Provide technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration, and technical management for federal government and defense clients. Assist with providing technical input to the systems engineering process, help to provide requirements analysis, and work with program managers and systems development contract teams to measure, track, and brief technical and programmatic risks and schedules. Assist with preparing and presenting systems assurance reviews, identify requirements and deficiencies in hardware and software products, and advise customers in product selection and use, capacity planning operations, and performance management. Help to build battlefield sensors. Apply digital forensics to automotive systems to track criminals. Work with the US military to protect our airspace. Gain expertise that you can’t learn in an academic environment. These positions may be located in VA, DC, or MD.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with system engineering processes, management, and principals in academic or internship environments

-Experience with working in a team environment

-Knowledge of using requirements gathering and tracking to support IT system development

-Ability to apply critical thinking to a wide variety of problems

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-Scheduled to obtain a BS degree in Spring or Summer 2020

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Pursuing a BS degree in Systems Engineering, CS, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred; pursuing an MS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field a plus
