Instructional Systems Designer
The Opportunity:
Do you want to develop training that will transform the Air Force client's Education and Training workforce practices? As an instructional designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can’t have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an instructional designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges by crafting effective training.
On our team, you’ll work with a team of subject matter experts from other disciplines such as graphic design and strategic communications, to capture your customer’s training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their goals. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you’ll design performance support tools. You’ll build training material with designers and strategists using adult learning principles, following the ADDIE model.
You’ll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You’ll recommend cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies, including blending learning to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you’ll meet with subject matter experts throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you’ll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You’ll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer’s learning needs. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students.

You Have:
3+ years of experience with instructional systems design or curriculum design
3+ years of experience with the design and delivery of classroom- and technology-based training programs
Knowledge of how to perform training needs analysis and assessments to determine and outline training needs
Knowledge of adult learning theories
Ability to edit content or curriculum reviewed in a report format as a deliverable
Ability to assist with the establishment and collection of metrics and lessons learned
Ability to develop a job aid or user reference guide on specific administrative functions
Secret clearance
Master’s degree in Instructional System Design or Curriculum Design

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
