Mechanical Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems for 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G, and unmanned maritime systems. Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Plan, organize, and conduct technical projects and phases of projects involving design and development of new and improved product and processes. Investigate solutions to product and process problems and consolidate results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Coordinate the efforts of drafters and designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects. Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination and modification of material and component and process specifications and requirements. Provide work leadership for junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-1.5+ years of experience with fabricating metal and plastic parts, soldering Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), and assembling and organizing electrical systems for military prototypes

-1+ years of experience with conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and machining corresponding mechanical and electrical components

-Experience with 3D printing, milling, CNC equipment, drilling, soldering, and use of machine shop tools

-Experience with designing, testing, and analyzing engineering software using AutoCAD, Creo Pro/E, SolidWorks, MATLAB, and LabView

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with 4G LTE and 5G equipment or unmanned systems is a plus

-Experience with Microsoft Office suite

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including proposal and report writing preferred

-CompTIA Security+ Certification or Information Assurance (IA) certifications

-Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
